Saipem secures $400 million in EPCI work offshore Saudi Arabia

Saipem has secured two Contract Release Purchase Orders (CPROs) worth around USD 400 million for offshore EPCI work under its long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco, Saipem announced on Wednesday.

Under the first of the two contracts, CRPO 154, Saipem will deliver EPCI towards one water injection tie-in platform, two water injection wellheads and approximately 5 kilometres of 24-inch pipeline, as well as about 15 kilometres of 15-kV cables at the Safaniya offshore oilfield.

Under CRPO 155, Saipem’s scope covers four water injection wellheads and associated subsea facilities, also in the Safaniya field. The company did not disclose the value of each contract.

Offshore operations will be carried out by construction vessels already deployed by Saipem in the region, while fabrication will be handled by Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators at Saipem’s yard in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Located in the Gulf approximately 5 kilometres off the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, Safaniya is the world’s largest offshore oilfield and is estimated to contain upwards of 34 billion barrels of oil equivalent.

Saipem is a global provider of engineering, construction, drilling and asset-based services for onshore and offshore energy and infrastructure projects. The company has five fabrication yards globally and operates a fleet of 17 offshore construction vessels and 12 drilling rigs.
